What is Greater Orlando COUPLES? Founded in February 2002, Greater Orlando COUPLES (GOC) is a non-profit social organization for committed lesbian and gay couples in the Greater Orlando Area. We offer relaxed settings for making new friends, as we share the joys, concerns, and challenges of being in committed relationships.
What is GOC's purpose? Our purpose is to recognize and reward gay and lesbian couples for their commitments to each other, to provide a sense of community, and to reach out in friendship. What GOC is not: NOT a dating service; NOT a counseling or crisis service; NOT a swinger's group or sex club; NOT affiliated with any political or religious group.
How often does GOC meet? GOC events take place at least once per month - in member's homes, party rooms or in public spaces. We host a variety of socials, including potlucks, restaurant nights, topic meetings, theater nights, picnics, game nights, sporting events, and many special events.
Group Demographics. Current membership is about 50 couples. GOC does not try to be "all things to all people." However, our membership is indeed a diverse group of couples of all ages, races, professions, and backgrounds.
What about Confidentiality? Membership lists are for the sole use of GOC. Name and addresses are never traded or sold. Members are not permitted to release membership information to any non-members; or use this information for non-GOC activities. Pictures in the newsletter and /or the website only appear with your written permission and only first names are included, inclusion in the member’s directory is optional and only with your written permission.
