July 18th – 20th - Camping John and Steve would like GOCers to join them at Silver River State Park to enjoy nature trails, like paths and just relaxing. There is a rib joint and a Perkin's restaurant nearby so civilization is just a hoot and a holler away with Silver Springs nearby, too. The guys will leave Lake Nona about 2pm and arrive at the park by 4pm. They will have two mountain bikes and a pop-up camper at reserved loop FK, Spot 054. For the adventurous, they have a vacant bunk in the camper that sleeps two--but bring earplugs since one of them snores. There will be an extra sixperson tent available on a first come-first served basis, but brint your own sleeping bags, pillows, etc. You will need to log on to www.reserveamerica.com and search for "Silver River State Park, Ocala, FL" to reserve a camp site since more than one camping unit per camp sit is not permitted. John and Steve will provide more information at call their phone number, and an RSVP to them would also be helpful.

July 23 rd Dine Out Ooh-la-la!!Let's spend time at a French Bistro. The place is Mimi's Cafe in Altamonte Springs. The menu is varied- salads, sandwiches, entrees--and reasonably priced with pictures of can-can girls and Moulin Rouge posters surrounding everyone. Mimi's is at 525 East Altamonte Drive, one block east of Altamonte Mall or next to Florida Hospital Altamonte if you are going west on 436 (Semoran Blvd). Please RSVP to Dave and Charlie no later than Monday July 21, so we will know if enough GOC"ers are coming 'cause if we have enough we may be able to get a room of our own. See you there!!

July 26th 7:00 p.m. Movie Night “Naked Boys Singing” Did the heading get your attention? It's the movie version of the popular off-Broadway musical and, yes, the boys are naked! But it's not pornography. It's very, very clever. We have seen the live stage version and watched the DVD several times, and are looking forward to seeing it again. Gals, if naked boys are not your thing, you will still enjoy the songs and dance numbers. Andy and Ron are hosts for the event so RSVP or by e-mail. We are looking forward to holding our first GOC event in our home so it will be popping good time with pop corn and soda pop and a movie that will make your eyes pop, too. We'll see you at the movies! |
